The least visited: Loreto and Santa Ana Jesuit Missions

reductions of Our Lady of Loreto and Santa Ana are the least visited of the Jesuit Missions. The reason, perhaps because they are found in a more natural state compared to those of San Ignacio that are partially rebuilt or also by the lack of promoting them.
The ruins of Loreto is located 6 km away from San Ignacio Mini, Santa Ana and are about 12 km
To enter the ruins of Loreto to do about 3 km from the provincial route 12. The asphalt is in poor condition that makes entry and makes it the least visited of all. Despite these obstacles are those who dare to visit.
At
it is received by the tourist guides, according to the number of people accompanying you during the tour (about 1 ½ miles) telling the whole story and more significant. At the entrance is a museum that displays objects found in the reduction and a model that reconstructs the Jesuit Mission.

At the beginning of the tour, like we're in a great expanse of forest since it does not see any evidence short of past civilization. As we move into the tour van sighting some loose stones and walls that managed to remain standing throughout the years. First stop

are excavations that took place in ancient latrines reductions where they found remains of pottery, glass and ceramic bottles brought by the Jesuits from Europe. The guide shows us the pit and told us that are still preserved wooden beams that supported the structure of the latrines. Later
stands the temple area, where are buried the remains of Antonio Ruiz de Montoya

Following the tour, the second stop is the sample of one of the few managed to stay upright walls, belonging to the Chapel of Our Lady of Loreto. This is another element significant, because it contains a ceremonial plaza and a processional route were revalued at the present time and are now part of the religious activities of the community.

This reduction was the first American printing (now displayed in a museum in the city of Cordoba) and also with a large library. This reduction was founded in 1610 by religious and Simon Joseph Cataldino Masceta.

SANTA ANA

The first Jesuit foundation of the town of Santa Ana dates from 1633 in Brazilian territory. Following the invasions of the frontiersmen was shifting, until in 1639, sits near your current location to move to the final location in 1660.
is one of the best preserved reductions and more bulky architectural remains, a remarkable resolution from urban adaptation to uneven terrain.

In this reduction we can see some of the walls of the temple which is located in the center of civilization. At his side is located the cemetery, which has a chapel. Here we do not have a professional guide, so we did our own tour for places that seemed more interesting, including the cemetery.

As we said in the previous post, access to these reductions are achieved through the presentation of the ticket is valid for the four Jesuit Missions.
If you are thinking of visiting missions to visit consider all cuts, all have their charms and history to tell. In addition to being very close between each other.
